How do you start classroom meetings? Webinar Live and Learn!, VCA and GGD

26 October 2025
back to school

On June 25th, Leef en leer! and Vrijwilligers Centrale Amsterdam, together with the GGD, organized an online meeting for all coordinators of informal organizations working with groups. The purpose of this meeting was to help them prepare for ‘back to school’ after the summer break and provide tips & tricks on what to consider regarding the corona measures.

How will you handle the RIVM’s advice to prevent infection during your classroom language meetings? When can and do you want to resume your activities? What do you need to know about the virus and transmission? What constitutes good hygiene and how do you address people who do not adhere to it sufficiently? And how do you deal with fear in yourself, your volunteers, or your participants? Marty Jacobs from the GGD engaged with the participants and answered as many questions as possible.

In the second part of this online meeting, language advisors Coos and Barbara from Leef en leer! discussed the substantive aspect of resuming the lessons. How do you help your volunteers prepare for the lessons under these new circumstances? How do you (re)create a safe atmosphere for volunteers and students? How do you handle students who may have fallen behind?
