What a celebration: Looking back on the Thanksgiving Day in the South!

Over two hundred volunteers from the South district enjoyed a special afternoon at the Concertgebouw on Saturday, November 12th. They were treated to a delicious lunch and a program full of music and stories as a thank you for their selfless dedication. This afternoon was organized with pleasure for you by VCA South, together with the South district. “You are indispensable to the district.”

Jazz at Brel in the small hallThe afternoon started with a delicious lunch that had everything; soup, wraps, sandwiches, and salad. It was a feast. Flora Breemer, member of the daily board of the South district, opened the afternoon. Then the program kicked off with a lively performance by Ike van Bergen and Julian Wittich, 2 students from the conservatory on piano and double bass. Following that, Michael Abspoel and Peter Brouwer took over, performing a part of their show ‘Living with Brel’. Beautiful stories and wonderful songs. Storyteller Atta de Tolk closed the afternoon with a concise summary. The closing drinks were also very enjoyable; attendees could have a fun portrait drawn by caricaturist Ingebritt and chat with each other and fellow volunteers.In the sunThe volunteer organization ‘Hulpdienst Buitenveldert’ turned 50 years old. A good reason to invite the volunteers present on stage and give them some extra recognition.
