Writing Tips – This way, no one can ignore your volunteer vacancy

Looking for new volunteers? Want them to choose your organization over others? A compelling call to action can make a big difference. Below are eight tips we share.No content to translate.

1. The beginning

Nobody reads, everyone scans. So make sure to grab attention from the very beginning and make someone curious for more. With: a catchy title and an introduction that engages and invites further reading.

2. Be creative

Volunteers-to-be can choose from so many tasks. Do you want them to choose you? Make a real effort to stand out and take the time to create a positive, good, and concrete job vacancy text. Your goal: to get people excited!

3. What’s in it for me?

Volunteers want a quick response to this question. Address this by using short, powerful, and clear texts and brief summaries on themes such as: What talents can someone use with you? What makes this volunteer work so enjoyable? What does someone get in return? Is there room for personal development? Place important information at the beginning of each paragraph and use attractive subheadings.

4. Everyone has talent

People are happiest when they can do what they love and what they are good at. Avoid creating a long list of job tasks or requirements. Provide the main (three) points. Or be flexible and leave it open, so you can adapt to someone’s unique talents.

5. In

Play the game of seduction, explain why it is so important that you make the city a little more beautiful and better, but remain honest and authentic. This way, the chance of a good, sustainable match is greatest.

6. One picture is worth a thousand words

You can add your own photo to any volunteer vacancy with us. Make sure to take advantage of this and show the joy of volunteering.
