On this page you will find all images and the text you can use to show how valuable and fun volunteering is. With this material you can easily create more visibility and recruit new people – sometimes with just one simple post. Feel free to use everything for publication.

How to participate:

We have created one powerful statement that everyone can use. Add your own website at the bottom, so people immediately know how to sign up with you.
(NB. Do you want to link directly to your volunteer positions? Go to the VCA job board and search for the name of your organisation. Copy the link from the address bar and paste it in the text. This way people will only see your opportunities.)
Choose an image that fits your organisation or activity well and download it. We have all images in two versions: landscape and portrait.
Easily share the combination of image and text via your social media, website or newsletter. Printing is also fine.

Dear Amsterdammer,

You can make this city buzz. With a little of your time and talent, you make more of a difference than you think. Volunteering is not an obligation, but an opportunity – for yourself and for Amsterdam. You discover new places, meet new people and see new sides of yourself. You laugh more often than you expected. Doors open that would otherwise remain closed. You help someone else, but you grow just as much yourself. What you give, you get back double.

Amsterdam thrives on people who care about each other. Without volunteers, there would be no sports clubs, no festivals, no community centres, no care for each other. No city that buzzes. Fortunately, many residents are already making a difference: 36% of adults do volunteer work, according to the report De Staat van de Stad Amsterdam. Especially people between 35 and 54 years old, parents with children, HBO/WO-educated and self-employed professionals. But that also means: the majority is not yet participating.

The need is growing. Amsterdam is ageing. The gap between groups is widening. More and more people – young and old – lack connection. Community organisations do not have enough hands.
This is exactly the moment when the power of volunteering counts: it connects people, lets sport flourish, keeps culture alive and gives neighbourhoods new energy.

Your effort is greatly needed. There is always something to do that suits you – small or large. Give your time. Share your talent. Make a difference. Start today.
