Dilemmas during lunch

You know them from everyday life, dilemmas. Do I stay home for my sick child or do I go to that important meeting? Do I exercise or go to that birthday party? Automatically, the pros and cons roll in your head for each option. What carries more weight. Taking care of my child or taking care of my work? What is truly important now?Even in volunteer organizations, there are daily big and small dilemmas. Should we collaborate with other parties in the field or remain competitors? Can a resident initiative request money for soda and chips or will they only receive funds if they serve healthy snacks? We need to cut costs, but which choice do we make, do we remove this or that from the budget?

You must always sit on a stranger’s lap in public… or… you can only walk backwards

Dilemmas on Tuesday

VCA comes to you

VCA organizes dilemma lunches where we explore concrete dilemmas in a Socratic way in 1.5 hours. With an open attitude, free from judgments and assumptions. This leads to a pleasant depth.

It gives your organization the opportunity to discuss organizational dilemmas together, from management to volunteers. A good process to engage in before making difficult choices or dealing with ongoing dilemmas together. Perhaps it makes decision-making easier. It moves towards a solution. In any case, it creates support among (volunteer) employees and perspectives on the future. It shows which values employees consider important in their work. Pioneering or certainty? Autonomy or unity? It provides insight into what employees are committed to. What values do we work from and want to work from? It prompts people to answer the question: what is truly important for the near future?

Feeling like having lunch?

Call or email one of the advisors and we will be happy to come by. Free of charge. Then we will ponder over the dilemma: should we bring filled cookies or healthy sandwiches?
