Come to the Kolenkitbuurt

From Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29, the Kom Buurten action weekend will take place in the Kolenkit neighborhood. During this weekend, residents can get to know volunteer work, neighborhood activities, and local initiatives in an accessible way. Kom Buurten helps residents meet each other, get to know the neighborhood better, and contribute together to a strong and engaged community.

Activities for and by the neighborhood

During the action weekend, there are various activities that residents can participate in or just drop by. The program is diverse and accessible to everyone. Residents can help clean up the neighborhood, discuss the future of the area, or take a walk with the elderly. The weekend demonstrates how simple and enjoyable it can be to make a difference in the community. Residents get to know organizations and initiatives in the neighborhood and meet other local residents.

Choose for yourself or personal advice

Participation in the activity weekend is free and non-binding. Neighborhood residents decide for themselves which activities they participate in and how often. Those who enjoy it can join in, but just stopping by to take a look is also an option. For residents who want to discover which volunteer work suits them, guidance is also available. They can receive personal advice that aligns with their schedule, talents, and interests.

Building a strong neighborhood together

Volunteering strengthens the neighborhood, increases contact between residents, and can help reduce loneliness. Whether someone has lived in the Kolenkit neighborhood for years or has just recently moved there, Kom Buurten offers an opportunity to meet new people and get involved in activities in the area.

Collaboration

Kom Buurten is organized by Burennetwerk, Markant, Serve the City, and Vrijwilligers Centrale Amsterdam, in collaboration with local initiatives and volunteer organizations and with support from the municipality of Amsterdam. The action weekend in the Kolenkitbuurt is, after previous editions in the Kinkerbuurt and the Banne, the third edition of Kom Buurten.
