Often, not much is needed to make someone’s day better: a chat, a walk, a message, or just some time together. That’s exactly what buddies do.
From November 8 to 15, the first action week of Kom Buurten takes place in the Kinkerbuurt. A week full of encounters, meaningful activities, and coziness in your own neighborhood. During Kom Buurten, residents can get to know volunteer work in an accessible way.
Elias worked as a volunteer at the Neighborhood Ceramics Workshops in Amsterdam West for 19 years. It gave him the opportunity to share his passion and knowledge.
Clientenbelang is committed to people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, vulnerable elderly, and caregivers.

To the Dutch lessons given by volunteer Judith at the Amsterdam Neighbor Women’s Contact (ABC), women from all over the world backgrounds come. “They are incredibly eager to learn and help each other where possible.”
There is nothing better than feeling tired and fulfilled after a day of working outside, according to Daniella, who volunteers in the garden at De Horizon. “It relaxes you and ultimately gives you more energy again.”
