Rachel is celebrating this week that she has been a lunchtime supervisor at Rijk Kramerschool for 10 years. “It brings me a lot because you get a nice break, also outdoors in the fresh air, and you have nice contacts with your lunchtime colleagues, the teacher of your class, and of course with the children. I especially find the preschoolers really enjoyable.”
VCA Nieuw-West
On November 15th, people could enjoy music, food, and various fun workshops in Nieuw-West.
Leila founded the Mother Network Foundation to support parents of children with disabilities: “We connect and build bridges.” What once started as volunteer work is now Leila’s full-time job. “By starting with volunteer work, I discovered a new side of myself and was able to walk my own path.”
At Vrouw en Vaart, women come to further develop themselves. The activities range from empowerment to vocational training and recently a Textile Repair Café. Nabila and Fatiha work here as volunteers: “When you help someone, you also feel better yourself.”
Language volunteers are much needed. Fortunately, there were many interested people at the Language Volunteers Cafe at the OBA on Postjesweg who want to help residents in Nieuw West.
