2021 was a year in which we started many new initiatives, deepened partnerships, and lobbied extensively. We lobbied hard to ensure that newcomers can continue to be guided in finding a suitable volunteer position. Without enthusiastic volunteer organizations, newcomers would have few opportunities. We had many discussions with funders to prevent budget cuts for this target group, in addition to investing in finding suitable volunteer positions.

A milestone was reached when we were able to startBusiness InvolvedA new project where we help companies make a difference in the Amsterdam region by connecting to initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment, the local community, and social organizations. A project we have been dreaming of for years, to truly connect the business world to the social field. We have also partnered with the Social Service Time project Music Moves. Together with various Amsterdam parties, we train young people to organize an event or ‘challenge’ for a vulnerable target group and carry out this activity with a larger group of volunteers.

I invite you to continue working with us in the coming period to create a beautiful society where volunteers are such an important part. We are committed to keeping the voluntary energy flowing and bringing the city to even greater prosperity.
