Volunteering comes in many shapes and sizes and is receiving a great deal of attention. For Amsterdam residents who want to get involved in their neighborhood, it's often difficult to get a clear picture of the possibilities. For organizations that want to use volunteers, it's often difficult to understand how to do this effectively; it's good for both the organization and the volunteer. However, these aspects are crucial for achieving sustainable volunteering; it requires professionalizing the recruitment and working with volunteers.

As an independent partner in the community, the VCA plays a key role in this professionalization. From maintaining a database of (almost) all volunteer work in the city to advising and training organizations on how to value and retain volunteers. The professionalism and dedication with which the VCA fulfills this role make it an indispensable partner for parties in the city, whether it's social activities, sports, or culture. It's wonderful to be able to contribute to this.
