As a volunteer you can do many things. For example with other volunteers you can cook a meal in a local restaurant, help in a kitchen garden, do technical jobs or coach a sports team. You can also volunteer once in a while with friends or family.
Volunteer Centre Amsterdam can help you find volunteer work where you can meet other people, improve your Dutch, or use your skills.
As a refugee, you are allowed to do voluntary work as soon as your asylum application is pending. From that moment you are an asylum seeker. You are not allowed to do voluntary work when your application has been refused and when you do not have a valid residence permit.
