Your volunteer is becoming forgetful. What do you do?
In collaboration with the Amsterdam Meeting Centers (AOCs) and DemenTalent, Vrijwilligers Centrale Amsterdam is organizing an online meeting for volunteer coordinators who may experience volunteers in their organization becoming forgetful. What do you do if you suspect something is wrong, but you are not sure? What choice do you make if the volunteer can no longer function in the current role?
In this hour and a half conversation, the professionals from the AOCs will explain how to recognize the early signs of dementia and how to start a conversation about it. The focus will be on finding ways to retain the volunteer within the organization, possibly in a different role.
For volunteers, it is important in this phase to remain active and continue with your familiar routine. Are you curious about DemenTalent’s approach and the AOC’s methods? Or do you have a case you would like to discuss? Then sign up for this online meeting.
ViaDemenTalentPeople with dementia can continue to actively participate as volunteers in meaningful activities in society. DemenTalent connects these individuals as volunteers with companies, organizations, or associations. When searching for a volunteer position, the interests and talents of the potential volunteer are taken into account.
The Amsterdam Meeting Center (AOC) provides coaching. The staff mediate and assist by paying a lot of attention to the introduction and a plan for the integration of volunteers with (early-stage) dementia.
This online session has a new date and will take place on Thursday, October 29th.You can register here via our online agenda.
