De Naamafdeling developed our tagline ‘You. Us. Happy.’ One that appeals to all target groups and emphasises the positive side of volunteering.
Volunteering is good for everyone. For the people who are helped, but certainly also for the volunteer themselves. And for organisations that can achieve their goals through the efforts of volunteers. But exactly who we address with ‘You’ we leave open: it could be the potential volunteer or the community initiative. Perhaps even the target group that receives the services of our volunteers. That is why we don’t say who we mean by ‘Us’. Is it us, as Vrijwilligers Centrale Amsterdam, or do we mean the ‘Us’ that is created by the collaboration of all volunteers? Or perhaps it is thought of more broadly and ‘Us’ stands for the entire city of Amsterdam? The city for which we and all volunteers dedicate ourselves. Feel free to think of whatever you like. Because that suits our city.
The fact is that through the efforts of ‘You’, a new ‘Us’ is created. And that makes everyone ‘Happy’. Research shows that volunteers are happier than people who don’t do volunteer work. On top of that, they are also healthier. Doesn’t that make you cheerful?
