Since July 1, 2021, the WBTR (Act on Management and Supervision of Legal Entities) applies to all associations and foundations. The law imposes obligations to ensure good governance. However, it is not a one-time obligation, but something that requires ongoing attention. That is why the Board Checklist is now available.The introduction of the law came in the middle of the coronavirus crisis. Not all board members of associations and foundations have therefore paid attention to it. Do so, is the advice. Already started? Great. But be aware, the obligations from the WBTR are not a one-time thing. You will have to deal with them several times a year. To make this easier, the action plan now includes a board checklist. This checklist includes the tasks and obligations that may arise throughout the year, including deadlines and who in the board is responsible for them. For example, updating the UBO register or onboarding new board members. In addition, you will find numerous practical advice and tips to facilitate governance, such as tips for recruiting volunteers. And finally, you can also create, assign, and schedule tasks yourself.

The online step-by-step plan and the board checklist have been developed through collaboration between a large number of cooperating associations and umbrella organizations. They guide board members in an easy way through all obligations, so they can focus primarily on the purpose of the association or foundation.
