Going on Vacation? Don’t Forget Your Volunteer Vacancies!

Summer is the time for many people to catch their breath. Contact persons for volunteer vacancies also often take a break. Completely understandable – but don’t forget to make your vacancies summer-proof!

Is the contact person going on vacation? Then make sure to arrange:

• A substitute who can follow up on responses

• Or temporarily deactivate the vacancy if there is a summer break

This way, volunteers won’t be left with unanswered questions and you avoid disappointment. It makes a big difference: for the volunteer and for your organization’s reputation.

A small action, but it keeps engagement high and the energy in volunteering moving – even in summer!
