Social organizations shared what you can do with them and what makes it so fun and valuable. After that, everyone could continue the conversation with them and ask their own questions. A lot of matches were made. Couldn’t make it but are curious? We’ve summarized everything!

At City Farm Osdorp, people with early-stage dementia have been able to participate in various activities as day care for over a year. This peaceful, healthy, and green environment is perfect for this purpose. Ria and Joke lead these mornings. “We both do it with love and want to be a link for the people.”
After his early retirement, Frank didn’t want to go to the gym. He has now become indispensable as an all-around volunteer at the Woonzorgcentrum Het Schouw. The highlight is singing together on Wednesday afternoons. “I am slowly learning that it is quite nice to combine reason and emotion.”
Giving is the new buying! After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s time for #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, December 3rd. Because giving (love) truly makes you (sustainably) happy. We are happy to provide you with inspiration.
Jack, 35 years old, volunteers once a week at Cordaan’s day care center. “I live in a Safehouse myself,” Jack says candidly. “I am a recovering addict. For me, my most important activities are sports, meetings, and volunteer work.”
Rob: “I can be myself here, I can do what I enjoy the most, fixing things. When you come, the coffee is ready, sandwiches, snacks, cookies. The warm feeling I have received here is very special.”
Charlie (56) cooks dinner for neighbors every other week on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Community Center Olympus. As a Brit in Amsterdam, he discovered that volunteering not only helped him learn the Dutch language but also find his place in the city. “I feel like I really belong here.”
