Lintjes 2026: a tribute to the volunteers of Amsterdam
During the annual Rain of honors today dozens of Amsterdammers have been honored with a Royal distinction. One by one, these are people who have been committed to their community, to others, and to the city for many years. And again this year, it is particularly clear: behind many ribbons lies volunteer work.
It concerns volunteers, connectors, and perseverers. People who often dedicate themselves without embellishment, but with great impact. In neighborhoods, associations, care, culture, and countless other places where Amsterdam thrives.
By Volunteers Central Amsterdam we are super proud of these Amsterdammers. But we are just as proud of all the other volunteers in the city who dedicate themselves every day without any recognition in return.
Volunteering is everywhere. In small gestures and large initiatives. In visible and invisible efforts. And that is exactly what makes Amsterdam warm, strong, and vibrant.
If it were up to us, the shower of ribbons could continue all year round. Because every form of voluntary effort deserves appreciation.
Thanks to everyone who is committed to helping others.
You make Amsterdam. 🧡
See who is surprised? The complete list will be published. on the municipality’s website.
