Looking back on Back to School – speed dating with organizations

During the Week of Reading & Writing, a special meeting took place for people who would enjoy standing in front of a class and helping others learn something that can benefit them. Together with Live and Learn!, VCA organized a speed dating event between volunteers and classroom organizations. In this accessible way, participants could get to know multiple organizations and figure out which one suited them best. The organizations present introduced themselves, and there was plenty of opportunity to meet other instructors and/or participants.

• Zuidoost Neighborhood Workroom
• OBA(Centrum)
• Coloured Circle(West, active in all districts)
• Women Forward(Nieuw West)
• Eduza(Southeast)

It turned out to be a very successful formula that brought people closer together in a COVID-safe way. Definitely worth repeating, and it has certainly resulted in some beautiful matches. Here are some photos.
