On Wednesday, October 27, alderman Victor Everhardt (Economic Affairs) opened the new online platform Business Involved together with our director Henriette van der Meij and Boudewijn Wijnands (CEO Deedmob). Business Involved connects employees of Amsterdam companies to social initiatives in the city, where they can do volunteer work and start other activities. The platform is a collaboration between the municipality of Amsterdam, Volunteer Center Amsterdam, and Deedmob.

Alderman Victor Everhardt: “Many companies in Amsterdam and their employees want to make an extra social contribution to the city. This new online platform ensures that employees of companies can easily find social initiatives in the city where they can volunteer.”.

This new online platform for Amsterdam’s employee volunteer work aims for special, effective, and lasting connections between Amsterdam companies and social organizations. This goes beyond just doing an afternoon of volunteer work during work hours, but aims for real connections and structural connections with impact. All social organizations and initiatives in the city can submit requests and offer activities on the site. Social organizations in the city thus receive a broad stage to communicate their needs for people and resources to companies in the city.
