Volunteer Appreciation Day South 2023. A musical celebration.

District South, in collaboration with Volunteer Center Amsterdam, is once again organizing the special Thank You Day for all volunteers from South.
The unique event traditionally takes place in the upper hall of the beautiful Concertgebouw. This year on Saturday, November 11th.

Lunch, drinks, and lots of music

The program looks as follows:

From 12:30 pm: Reception with lunch
1:30 pm: Start of the performance in the small hall.
1:45 pm: Performance by conservatory students
2:15 pm: Performance by New Cool Collective
3:15 pm: Closing
3:30 pm: Drinks and snacks

Over New Cool Collective

The eight-piece band New Cool Collective has released an impressive number of 20 albums in the past 30 years. This Dutch Jazz formation also has an amazingly diverse list of collaborations, ranging from Matt Bianco to Orchestra Baobab’s saxophonist Thierno Koité. They have received awards for film scores, produced hit records, topped popularity polls, and even received a style award for Benjamin’s impeccable wardrobe. New Cool Collective has become an extremely close-knit unit, feeling completely at ease during live TV shows, plays, big stages, small clubs, jazz festivals, pop festivals, world music festivals, and anything else you can think of. They are the main attraction of the Volunteer Appreciation Day South 2023. It’s going to be a great party! New Cool Collective consists of saxophonist Benjamin Herman, guitarist Rory Ronde, drummer Joost Kroon, percussionists Frank van Dok and Jos de Haas, pianist Willem Friede, bassist Leslie Lopez, and trumpeter David Rockefeller.
