Looking back on the festive 15th Volunteer Appreciation Day at the Concertgebouw!
On November 11th, there was a celebration at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam Zuid: the Volunteer Appreciation Day! We look back on a fantastic day, a successful 15th edition.
On the Appreciation Day, around 300 volunteers from Amsterdam Zuid enjoyed music, food, and togetherness. Upon arrival, a delicious lunch with soup and sandwiches awaited everyone. The musical program kicked off with Henry Muldrow from the Droomwevers Foundation performing a thank-you rap that got everyone happily involved. The atmosphere was immediately lively. Pianist Yunah Han and double bassist Anja Gottberg then took the stage. These Conservatory talents took the audience on a musical journey through various styles. As the grand finale, the New Cool Collective, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, took the stage. And, because of the unique acoustics of the Concertgebouw, they played acoustically and how! With their unique blend of jazz, soul, cumbia, and African music, the band rounded off the day perfectly. After the performance, many people stayed to chat and enjoy drinks during the drinks reception. The Compliment Girls, dressed in big bows, made sure everyone left with compliments in hand. What a celebration! Looking forward to the 16th edition already!
A huge thank you to the amazing musicians, the Amsterdam Zuid district, the Concertgebouw, and of course all the volunteers who made this day so special.
