Cozy thank-you party for the volunteers in Amsterdam North

On November 12, the volunteer party of 2023 took place at the Tolhuistuin. With this party, the Amsterdam North District and the Volunteer Center Amsterdam thanked the volunteers from the North for their wonderful dedication. The volunteers from Amsterdam North have once again done many beautiful things: one distributes food, another drives neighbors to their hospital appointments, and another provides a cup of coffee or tea and a warm welcome in a community center. The appreciation was also expressed by Brahim Abid, chairman of the daily board of the North District, during his thank-you speech.

Upon arrival, volunteers could sign up for an activity or workshop with the civil servants of the North District who volunteered on that day. There were chair masseurs, makeup artists/hair stylists, and a portrait photographer. In addition, participants could join workshops such as ‘Drawing in 1 line’ or ‘Making music with your body’ or play bingo. A fun activity was organized for the children. And of course, there were delicious snacks and drinks. The party ended with a Dutch song. We hoped there was something fun for everyone!

The volunteers enjoyed meeting other volunteers while enjoying a snack and a drink, being pampered with a chair massage or a new look from the makeup artist/hair stylist, and having fun at the Bingo (especially when the prize was won). In short, it was a successful day.
