Volunteers’ Café Westerpark: plenty of inspiration for volunteer work
On October 17, Museum het Schip was filled with people looking for volunteer work. First, a delicious bowl of soup with bread and salad, and then pitches from social organizations active around Westerpark. They shared what you can do with them and what makes it so enjoyable and valuable. After that, everyone could continue the conversation with them and ask their own questions. A lot of matches were made.Couldn’t make it, but are you curious about the possibilities around Westerpark? Here everything is summarized.
Black Cat Theatre
Black Cat Theatre is a special place in Amsterdam, specifically aimed at the very youngest. The performances are suitable for children from 1 year old. There is a spacious foyer where children can play with unique toys.
The Rainbow Group
De Regenboog Groep is there for Amsterdammers who are struggling and have nowhere else to turn. They mobilize the strength in society to support them in participating as independently as possible in the community. Every person deserves a dignified existence. Poverty, addiction, psychiatric issues, or homelessness do not make a person any less human. They believe in a city where there is room for everyone, on solid ground instead of between the cracks. A city where we are involved in each other’s lives and where we strengthen one another. Volunteering can start with just a few hours a week, where you indicate when it suits you. Explore the possibilities.

Museum the Ship

It is interesting for people who love museums that tell a piece of Amsterdam’s history. For those interested in architecture, particularly the architecture of the Amsterdam School, it is fantastic to work in such an environment. Foundation Celebrate Life
The goal of Celebrate Life is to let seniors (once again) enjoy beautiful cultural experiences. They connect guests with peers who, like them, enjoy our fully organized cultural outings. Celebrate Life organizes trips to theaters, cinemas, concert halls, and museums. The volunteers accompany a maximum of three guests in their own car (with four doors) and enjoy the performance with their guests. They do everything to make it a festive afternoon or evening together. Become enthusiastic? Look here.
