On Friday, December 13, 2024, we rode our Thank You Cargo Bike, laden with gifts, through the city center to thank volunteers everywhere. Because volunteers spread happiness, and we all need that!

Who did we all meet?

We handed out 150 gifts at the Oosterkerk, Waterlooplein, Nieuwmarkt, Haarlemmerplein, and Elandsgracht. We met a volunteer who gives music lessons to children at the Claverhuis, and a driver from the Heen en Weer foundation who used to be a sommelier. We met the women who run the flower stall at Nieuwmarkt and heard they were organizing a neighborhood dinner in December. We ran into a man who had a cargo bike just like ours and had cycled to the South of France with it. Now he was a volunteer at the Wereldhuis, handing out coffee and soup to the homeless.

We visited the Roode Bioscoop cinema on Haarlemmerplein and left gifts for their volunteers, wishing them strength in their fight to remain in their hometown for 35 years. We ran into a civil servant at the Stopera who had just started her job and was volunteering in her hometown. We were able to tell her right away that she could volunteer during work hours. And we met many more people who are dedicated to their work!

Do you also want to spread happiness?
